Every day at 2 pm the Danta Waterfall guided tour takes you through a variety of landscapes, and to one of our most popular attractions in the Arenal Observatory Lodge & trail´s extensive 350-hectare (865 acres) nature reserve, the Danta Waterfall. Surrounded by dense primary tropical rainforest this 6-meter-tall cataract spills out of the jungle filling an enchanting plunge pool. Cool mist fills the air, and the cascading water's thundering sound creates a relaxing and magical atmosphere.

In addition to visiting the waterfall, you will walk through a series of tropical gardens and explore a section of the hotel’s farm, concluding the tour at the lagoon. During this experience, our guide will ensure you have the best chance at spotting wildlife while answering any questions you may have. After concluding the tour of the farm, you will hop onto our tractor-pulled cart for a pleasant ride back through our farm.

This Danta Waterfall Tour consists of roughly 2 kilometers (1.25 miles) of walking, including a steep descent down a set of stairs to reach the waterfall. The tour takes approximately 1.5 hours. This tour has an additional cost of $12 per person, a minimum of 4 people. We recommend bringing good walking shoes, drinking water, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars, and a rain jacket. We limit the group size to a maximum of 15 people, to ensure a more intimate guided tour experience.
